I’m sure you’ll notice the irony of it all very quickly. My voice–so seldom used in my own affairs–is now intervening in yours. My voice is filling the space yours leaves behind, and in doing so, it abandoned its own work. To be honest with you, I don’t particularly enjoy irony. There’s something malicious about it, as if it just holds the salt destined for your wounds just waiting for the right moment to present itself, waiting for you to be at your most vulnerable. Irony seems to promise humor, but there is no punchline for you to enjoy, is there? 

Ironic or not, I am good at this specific form of talking. Not so much about filling the space, but helping you understand the space. I can’t fix all your problems, I will remind you, but I can remind you that your problems are fixable. That is, if you listen. Are you listening?
